How I saved over $12,000 drinking coffee at home
Today I realised it's been over 3 years with my current pod coffee machine and I thought, I wonder how much this has actually saved me. In the last three years I've pretty much switched exclusively to making my coffee at home. Breville Nespresso Creatista Uno Coffee Machine Yes it's a pod machine, I know a real coffee machine probably tastes better, but I'm just not in for all that effort. I b

Dinner with Curried Chicken Wonton Soup
On my trip to Woolies Metro, I managed to pick up some items heavily discounted. I got rainbow coleslaw (carrot, broccoli and beetroot) from $3.00 reduced to 66c, and also wonton wrappers from $3.30 to 66c. So wonton soup seemed like an easy option. I already have some chicken mince frozen in the freezer, and I could use up 1/2 a cabbage in the filling and the lettuce I had left over from when

Eating Out with AYCE Fried Chicken Wings @KaiKai Chicken
Went to KaiKai chicken for the first time on Saturday. It is an All You Can Eat (AYCE) restaurant, serving fried chicken wings, fries and fresh jam donuts (in the shape of a sandwich). Remember, it's not all you can eat, its really eat all you can. You gotta get that value! I got the standard buffet, which is $23.90 per person. There are twelve different wing flavours and six loaded fries flavou

Dinner with 60% off cabbage
I have two sugar-loaf cabbages that I picked up at Fresh & Save for $1 each. Coles/Woolies normally have sugarloaf cabbages as $2.50 each, so thats 60% off. The question is, what to do with them. Obviously the first thing that comes to mind is coleslaw. I also have some sausages in the freezer, so that sounds like a plan. My go to Creamy coleslaw recipe. But sometimes I like a non-creamy sweet a

Dinner with Plant-based Meat Bagels
Dinner time again and I got a great deal the other day on bagels - $1.10 for 4 bagels. These have been chilling in my freezer for a few days, so now its time to eat. bargain bagels I have vegan-mince left over from yesterday, so for dinner tonight, I think a kind of...bagel sloppy joe is in order. Kenji Lopez-Alt goes into some depth on serious eats about how to reheat an old bagel. These are d

Credit Cards with Westpac Low Rate Card $400 Cashback offer extended
Good news, the Westpac Low Rate Card Cashback offer has been extended from the 30th November 2021 to 24th Feb 2022. Spending requirements are $4000 in 4 months, $1000/month is pretty much the standard spend requirement for every rewards card. The offer is currently ranked No.14 on rwrds, but is still a good card, considering it has no annual fee the first year, and a $59 annual fee for subsequen

Dinner with Chicken Meatloaf with Ketchup Glaze
Next.js has two forms of pre-rendering: Static Generation and Server-side Rendering. The difference is in when it generates the HTML for a page. Static Generation is the pre-rendering method that generates the HTML at build time. The pre-rendered HTML is then reused on each request. Server-side Rendering is the pre-rendering method that generates the HTML on each request. Importantly, Next.js l

Dinner with Korean-Style Lettuce Wraps & Plant Based
Got back from Woolies Metro and found some plant-based mince reduced from $8.25 to $3.71 (55% off). Look's like it was marked down at 8:51am in the morning. I've been trying to work out what is the best time to look for reduced items, but it seems fairly random, so I've been heading down at 11:30am. vegan meat So for a simple weeknight meal that is ready in less than 30 minutes, I toss browned pl
